Innovative design, the first foam earplug featuring a cylinder shape

The 3M™ E-A-R™ Classic™ Earplugs set the industry standard for personal safety noise reduction as the worlds first foam earplug. Soft, slow-recovery foam is designed to mold to the shape of the ear canal and provide hearing protection. These disposable earplugs come with or without cords; an optional dispenser box is sold separately. A cylindrical shape is suited to fit most sizes, with a 7% smaller version also available for smaller ear canals and a 20% longer version for larger ear canals.

The first foam earplug featuring a cylinder shape. Even in humid environments, the moisture-resistant foam helps provide more comfort. They are available in standard, small and large sizes.

Custom options
Hearing protection earplugs come with or without cords, and are available in different packaging types and quantities. Perfect for frequent visitors, these disposable earplugs can be distributed from a convenient dispenser box (sold separately).

Compatible with the 3M™ E-A-Rfit™ Dual-Ear Validation System

E-A-Rfit™ provides an accurate quantitative assessment of how much noise reduction a hearing protector provides to an individual worker.

Disposable Foam Earplugs

3M™ Disposable Foam Earplugs, made from slow-recovery foam, help provide a combination of comfort and hearing protection for users. Once the foam earplugs are compressed into small cylinders (rolled down), they are easy to insert into ears where the slow recovery foam expands to fit the ear canals. 3M™ provides a wide range of disposable foam earplugs so you can choose the best solution for your needs.

The right fit test. Right now.

Classic™

Classic™ earplugs are the industry’s first foam earplugs, virtually revolutionizing hearing protection when Classic™ was introduced to the world. Today, the revolution continues.
Classic™ earplugs meet wearer needs with the soft proprietary energy-absorbing slow recovery foam, preferred cylindrical shape and proven in-ear comfort.

The challenge of hearing protection

Millions of workers are exposed to hearing hazards every year, and even though OSHA regulations and NIOSH recommendations in the U.S. require protection, occupational hearing loss is still the number one reported worker illness in manufacturing.

You can advance your hearing conservation program with a customized and comprehensive approach to the hearing protection challenge. Implementing a solution that really makes a difference begins with an understanding of the hazards, the regulations, and the factors that impact protection.

Earplugs

Provide your workers effective hearing protection with 3M™ Disposable Foam Earplugs, Push-to-Fit Earplugs and Reusable Earplugs.

How To Use

N/A Fitting Instructions
  1. ROLL and compress disposable foam earplugs into a very thin crease-free cylinder.
  2. REACH around the head to pull the ear outward and upward to help straighten the ear canal. Insert compressed earplug well into the ear canal.
  3. CHECK FIT after inserting earplug.
  4. LISTEN to steady loud noise with earplugs in both ears. Cover ears with tightly cupped hands. Noise should sound about the same whether or not ears are covered.
CAUTION: For greater comfort and safety, remove earplug slowly with twisting motion to gradually break the seal.
